Style Copy Cat: Carey Mulligan

Ms. Carey Mulligan (now Mrs. Marcus Mumford) first caught Hollywood’s attention when she starred in the Oscar nominated film, An Education. Ever since then, she has become quite the fashion darling along with other young starlets like Emma Stone, Emma Watson and Keira Knightley. Her signature pixie cut and classic style choices have made her one of fashion’s top “It” Girls.

This year she stars opposite Leo Dicaprio in one of the biggest blockbusters of the year. Carrey portrays F. Scott Fitzgerald’s iconic 1920′s flapper, Daisy, in Baz Luhrmann’s adaption of The Great Gatsby. Mulligan looks every bit of the MidCentury diva in costumes designed by Prada and crafted headbands by Tiffany’s. Not a bad gig, huh?

Carey looks chic on and off the screen in streamline dresses and minimal accessories, which suits her small frame. I love this grape-colored dress she wore to a premiere last year, because it’s sexy without being over the top. And can we talk about those heels? Devine.

Style Copy Cat: Kate Moss

Kate Moss has been a personal style icon of mine for years. Not only is she an international super model, but she is also known for her amazing sense of personal style. This is because Kate has always dressed to the beat of her own drum. She was the first one to start the “high/low” trend when she began mixing vintage pieces with new designs.

I love how Kate styled this outfit because she made these classic pieces look new and fresh again. This black button-up blouse is an old favorite, but pairing it with a cropped nude pant adds an unexpected edge. Kate also shows us how to mix neutrals by wearing this distressed brown belt with black clutch.

My favorite thing about Kate is her uncanny ability to consistently challenge our ideas about what fashion is today. She also serves as an inspiration to all of those working moms out there who are learning to embrace their own sense of personal style.

Style Copy Cat: Olivia Wilde

I’ve been an Olivia Wilde fan ever since the first season of House. Not only is she drop dead gorgeous, she also has a unique sense of style that always seems to be evolving. She typically prefers maxi skirts to fitted sheaths, but this look is more Audrey Hepburn than Nicole Richie.

This coral color dress is the perfect color on her tan skin and it’s also one of the top colors of 2013. The patent black belt defines her waist, which is super flattering on every woman (even if you’re not built like a super model!). She kept with the 1950′s look by embracing the cateye sunnies trend and black platforms. My favorite part of the outfit, though, has to be the yellow and black clutch. I’m pretty crazy about it. Or should I say “wilde” about it?

Style Copy Cat: Beyonce

In honor of tonight’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, I thought I would do a little Style Copy Cat featuring the fabulous Beyonce. Mrs. Jay Z is not only known for her fierce talent on-stage, but for her keen sense of style off stage. You can see the proof in her Instagram feed. She always seems to always look put together, whether she’s toting baby Blue Ivy around town, sitting court-side with her husband or jet-setting to Europe.

Beyonce knows how to dress her curvaceous bod in the latest designer duds and trends. This look is the definition combination of casual chic. To copy the look, dress up simple jeans and a t-shirt with a pop-color blazer and printed scarf.

Style Copy Cat: Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen may have two pretty famous sisters (yeah, you may have heard of them), but ever since her movie debut in Martha Marcy May Marlene in 2011, she has made a name for herself and has proved she has some serious acting chops. Elizabeth has become known as quite the fashion plate on the indie red carpets as well.

Her style always seems effortless and oh so chic. She typically favors designers that offer unexpected silhouettes like Prada and Marni. On her days off, you can usually see her sporting funky hats, her round sunnies and vintage boots. Take a cue from this style-setter by keeping your color palette more muted, while paying close attention to fit and detailing.
