Before AMC’s Walking Dead took over America’s Sunday night, there was the network’s first major game-changer, Mad Men. The show is known for it’s seductive story lines, complex characters and above all – fabulous fashion. The show has brought back the glamour of the 1960′s to both the fashion and beauty industries, all while inspiring us to embrace our inner sexy secretary.

Banana Republic just introduced their second clothing collection inspired by the retro silhouettes in the show and designers like Micheal Kors and Tory Burch have given us their take on throw-back designs since the show’s premiere. I love how Kate styled this outfit because she made these classic pieces look new and fresh again. This black button-up blouse is an old favorite, but pairing it with a cropped nude pant adds an unexpected edge. My favorite thing about Kate is her uncanny ability to consistently challenge our ideas about what fashion is today. She also serves as an inspiration to all of those working moms out there who are learning to embrace their own sense of personal style.
