Red Carpet Watch: The 2013 Grammy Awards

The Grammy’s are similar to the VMA’s or MTV Music Awards in that they allow the nominees and guests to be a little bit more advantageous in their style choices. However, this year’s Grammy Award fashions were much more subdued than red carpets past. Rihanna looked more demure than she’s looked in years. On the other hand, Jennifer Lopez, who was suffering from the Angelia Jolie high slit syndrome.

Take a peek at my favorite looks of the night and then click here to see my list of fashion misses.

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Red Carpet

Rihanna looks so amazing in this red Azzadine Alaia gown. She traded her typical R rated garb for a chic and classic PG version. I also loved her honey blonde hair color, but a side or blunt bang would have made the look perfect.

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Arrivals

I’m not sure who Taylor Swift’s new stylist is, but major kudos to that individual. Swift has been killing it on the red carpet lately! I thought she looked every bit of the songstress goddess in this white Grecian inspired gown by J. Mendal.

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Red Carpet

I’m still unsure of how Carly Rae Jepsen became famous, but she really looked great in this Roberto Cavalli silver gown. Tough it wasn’t the most adventurous look, it fit her well and the color did wonders for her skin tone.

The 55th Annual GRAMMY Awards - Red Carpet

I’m not quite sure why I liked Beyonce’s black and white outfit. Maybe because I love the idea of separates on the red carpet and it just seemed so unexpected from the queen of sex appeal. The one thing I would change would be the matching bracelets.

Red Carpet Watch: SAG Awards

I know this is a little bit late . . . ok, so a week late. BUT, if you’re not watching the Super Bowl, this Red Carpet Watch will give you a little fashion eye candy to keep you busy. This year’s 19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards was the last award show before the Golden Globes and Oscars. Nominee’s like Jennifer Jennifer Lawrence and Naomi Watts looked stunning, while stars like Sigourney Weaver and Nicole Kidman were less impressive.

The hottest colors of the night included cobalt blue and silver and the silhouettes ranged from streamlined and polished to flowy and romantic. Take a look at my best dressed choices of the night and then check out who didn’t make the list.

19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Red Carpet

What a babe! Naomi Watts has been on a role this award season and didn’t fail to impress at the SAGs. I loved how this simple, yet chic Marchesa dress looked on her It complimented her body shape and coloring perfectly.

19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

How amazing does this navy blue Dior look on Jennifer Lawrence? This was probably my favorite dress she’s worn thus far because it had just the right amount of volume and structure.

19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

Jennifer Garner looked beautiful in this golden Oscar de la Renta. She was the only one to choose a gown in this unique color and boy did she pull it off! I also loved her simple wavy hair style, which looked perfect with the opulence of the dress.

19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Red Carpet

Ok, so Kerry Washington is just plain gorgeous. This snow white Rodarte dress with silver stud detail made her skin look incredible. I loved how the structured corset-like top with flowy skirt looked modern and timeless at the same time.

19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

Amanda Seyfried is one of the freshest faces in Hollywood, but sometimes misses the mark when it comes to her fashion choices. Not so at the SAG Awards. She killed it in this navy blue Zac Posen gown. Loved the train, lovd the color and loved the necklace.

19th Annual Screen Actors Guild Awards - Arrivals

Marion Cotillard could wear a paper bag and look amazing. That being said, I wasn’t a huge fan of this dress at first. However, I do like the idea of the shape with the pointy toe heel. I just could thought the bow and the necklace looked a little be stuffy.

Red Carpet Watch: Critics Choice Awards

Here we go again! Another round of rd carpet do’s and don’ts to tide you over until, well, tomorrow. Unlike The People’s Choice Awards from the prior evening, The Critics Choice Awards fashion was a bit more reserved. Stars like Emily Blunt and Anne Hathaway hit it out of the park by opting for simple, yet stunning designs. Marion Cotillard also looked every bit of the fashion plate with her whimsical Zuhair Murad frock.

The misses of the night include Elle Fanning, who I give some leeway because she’s young and takes risks. Another flop was Amy Adams in an ill-fitted navy and cream number. I usually like everything she wears, but this time she fell flat.

Check out who made my best dressed list below.

My favorite of the night was Emily Blunt in a dreamy creamy Miu Miu with gold heels. I loved the slightly awkward length of the dress and the stunning neckline. Her newly blonde hair and red lips made the look even more perfect.

Marion Cotillard gets two photos because the back of this frilly moment is just too good to miss! For a gal that can pull off pretty much anything, I love how she took a risk with this playful dress by Zuhair Murad. The chic side bun and minimalistic makeup let the dress do all the talking.

Jennifer Lawrence’s got some flack for her black Prabal Gurung, but I liked it. The mixture of leather and silk made a statement and did amazing things for her body. The only thing I would have skipped were the earrings as they seemed a bit much with the design.

Ok, so I have to admit I had no idea who Kerry Bishe was until today. But after seeing her rock this killer long-sleeve Pamela Rolland gown last night, she may be my new favorite person. This dress hit all the right notes with its flawless draping and use of color.

Naomi Watts looked simple, yet elegant in a black Pucci sheath. The chiffon panel at the neck added a bit of mystery and her turquoise drop earrings proved to be the perfect accessory choice.

Red Carpet Watch: The People’s Choice Awards

The People’s Choice Awards kicked off the award season last night with an array of celebs who came out to rock the red carpet with some great (and no-so-great) fashion choices. One of my favorites of the night was Taylor Swift, who traded her signature girly vintage frocks for a chic and daring white gown.  I also really loved Chloe Grace Moretz, in a neon yellow Simone Rocha number. It was feminine, young and was a great fit for her fun personality.

Some of my least favorite looks of the night where Paris Hilton in a poorly fitted acid trip of a dress complete with a disastrous shoe choice. Another miss was Kaley Cuoco’s strange ballerina get-up that just looked like a bad prom dress. Good or bad, the People’s Choice Awards always provide entertaining fashion moments that are sure to create buzz to satisfy us until the next red carpet.

Taylor Swift looked every-bit of the chic starlett in a fitted white gown with plunging neckline. Her makeup, hair and accessories also complimented her new grown-up look perfectly.

Chloe Grace Moretz sported a bright neon flower power dress that was perfectly styled with black ankle pumps. I love how age appropriate this dress is for this talented 15 year-old.

Awkward star Ashley Rickards rocked the pale color palette that was so popular on the red carpet. The art deco design on the dress looked just right with her modern wavy hair style.

Naomi Watts received mixed reviews for her black and gold Alexander McQueen gown. I think she looked chic and modern and loved the backless top.

I also really liked the LBD Mae Whitman paired with nude heels and red lips. The structure of the dress really flattered her figure and skin tone.

Beauty Olivia Munn also got mixed reactions to her black and white Carolina Herrera dress. I thought it actually worked on her because it was balanced with a simple hair style and accessorized with a chunky cocktail ring.

Red Carpet Watch: The 2012 Academy Awards

Last year, I was fortunate enough to be apart of E!’s Countdown to the Academy Awards segment and speak from the red carpet about what I would wear to an Oscar after party. I had an amazing time being able to be apart of the festivities. This year has been a whirl-wind of styling new and loyal clients and my wedding styling business has really taken off! Needless to say it was nice to be able to take a night off and simply enjoy the show.

The Oscars never seem to fail us when the rich and famous come out to play and honor their own. Highlights included the return of Billy Crystal, Sasha Baron Cohen showing up as his alter-ego and Angelina’s leg stealing everyone’s thunder. But enough about all of that, let’s get to the good stuff!

Here are a few of my favorite looks of the night:

Emma stone was my favorite look of the night. She always takes risks with her fashion choices on the red carpet and they always seem to pay off. I love the playful bow detail and the color that compliments her ivory skin. Michelle Williams was another favorite of the night in a crimson Louis Vuitton. Her hair looked fresh in her signature pixie cut and the silhouette gave a 1950′s feel.

I wasn’t as big of a fan of Gwyneth’s look as most people were. However, I did appreciate the modern feel she was going for in this white Tom Ford gown. also liked her relaxed up-do and of course her arms look flawless! Rooney Mara was one of those I was super excited to see walk the red carpet. Though her Gievenchy dress was not what I had expected, but she did look very glamorous and I loved her hair and red lip.

Jessica Chastain was one of my favorite beauty looks of the night. Her hair and makeup looked flawless and fresh. Her McQueen gown was a bit aging for my taste, but over all, she looked great. Kristin Wigg hit the mark again in a gold J. Mendel. The detailed bodice was the perfect compliment to the feathered skirt.

Navy blue is one of my favorite colors to see on the red carpet. Leslie Mann wore a stunning jeweled midnight blue Cavalli, which made her starberry locks look oh so chic! Tina Fey donned  a classic navy Herrera gown with black sash and bold earrings.
