It’s two days before Coachella and the beginning of the music festival season. This week, anyone who’s anyone is packing up their tribal print dresses and crop-tops to be front and center at the biggest concert of the year. Though most folks go to see the musical talent of everyone from Janelle Monae to Phoenix, some simply go to show off their style-skills.

One must be innovative and thoughtful when deciding on what to pack for a festival. You have to keep in mind that it will be hot and obviously very crowded. That’s why keeping your options stylish, yet functional is key. I love the idea of a tribal print maxi with cut-outs (like the one featured below). Pair it with some flat sandals and a studded bag for an effortlessly cool vide. You’ll also notice that many Coachella-goers will choose to rock short-shorts and a bikini top and call it a day.

As with most events, dressing for summer’s upcoming festivals should be fun and serve as a platform to show off your personal style. So whether you’re an indie-chic kinda gal in free-flowing silk dresses or take your fashion cue from Janis Joplin in fringe shorts, there’s options for every Coachella style-setter.

What to Wear: Valentine’s Day Outfits

Wanna look hot this Valentine’s Day ? I thought so. Whether you’ve already got a date or are looking to hook a hottie, I’ve included three outfit ideas for both day and night. I’ve featured looks that will appeal both you and your man by keeping the outfits stylish, yet simple. Remember that men tend to look at you as a whole ie, “great legs, pretty hair, great legs . . .”,  as opposed to woman who tend to notice every single little detail (“love that handbag, I wonder what conditioner she uses, where did she get those shoes?”). You’re man will have his eyes on you and your shape, not your Louboutins.

Stylish Day-Date

Chic for Cheap: Leather

Leather never goes out of style, but it just so happens to be a huge trend for spring. Though I do recommend investing in quality leather pieces, there’s no need to spend a ton of cash when you are simply wanting to rock leather details for a season or two.

I’ve chosen a few of my favorite pieces for this post that include a military jacket with leather sleeves (so cute with a maxi skirt!), embellished leather shorts and mint color handbags with studs.

This post will also be helpful if you are opposed to sporting real leather, as most of the “cheaper” items are pleather.

Style Copy Cat: Elizabeth Olsen

Elizabeth Olsen may have two pretty famous sisters (yeah, you may have heard of them), but ever since her movie debut in Martha Marcy May Marlene in 2011, she has made a name for herself and has proved she has some serious acting chops. Elizabeth has become known as quite the fashion plate on the indie red carpets as well.

Her style always seems effortless and oh so chic. She typically favors designers that offer unexpected silhouettes like Prada and Marni. On her days off, you can usually see her sporting funky hats, her round sunnies and vintage boots. Take a cue from this style-setter by keeping your color palette more muted, while paying close attention to fit and detailing.
