One of the first things I did on my last trip to New York was visit the new Madewell boutique on Gansevoort Street in the fashionable Meatpacking District. Formally the home of the well-known Florent and R & L restaurants, the three story space has been transformed into a haven for local hipsters and fashion girls alike! I mean this place is to die for. Everything from the stylish window displays to the original hardwood flooring, no detail was overlooked. From the minute I walked through the doors, I felt so welcomed and at home!

For those of you who aren’t familiar with the brand, Madewell is the stylish baby sister of J.Crew. Their stores are stocked with carefully curated tomboy-inspired goodies and cult-favorite collaborations. They recently paired up with the ultra chic french brand, Sezane (which is just perfection!). However, they are best known for their selection of fashionable denim. If you’re looking for the perfect pair of jeans, Madewell is the new Levi’s.

I actually used to work at Madewell back in the day, so it was so fun to be able to place dress up on my old stomping grounds! When I was trying on goodies to shoot for the blog, one of the Madewell stylists said I had to try their best selling Mockneck Midi dress. She was raving about how it looks great on nearly every body type. Well, she was right! The dress fit so perfectly, I had to take it home. I paired it with one of their classic denim jackets. I have always loved Madewell jean jackets because they have such a fitted, feminine fit.

I completed the look with one of their genuine leather cross-body handbags and gold detailed necklace. The shoes are the only thing that are not by Madewell. I picked up those at Anthropologie!

Do you guys love Madewell as much as I do? If so, you must pay a visit to their new location! When you do, let me know what you couldn’t leave without. I left with just a few bags ; )

xo, SM
