These photos were taken in Greenwich Village on a rainy day during New York Fashion Week. The streets were wet and slippery as we ran from one location to another. Though my hair didn’t like the weather, it was the perfect setting for this layered look! I bought this dress from Zara last season and have gotten so much wear out of it. I love the forest green color because it just looks so great in fall. They no longer carry this exact style (sorry guys!), however, they do have some similar styles, here.

This BCBG Generation sort sleeve trench has also served me very well this season and it’s on sale! It’s super lightweight and great for layering over dresses or even short sleeve sweaters or t-shirts. The color is so versatile and I always get lots of compliments when I wear it! It’s a great alternative to a standard trench or duster and looks so simple and chic.

Stylist Tip: When you’re layering for the season, be sure to look at the proportions of the pieces you are putting together. For instance, if you are wearing a long coat, opt for a shorter dress to create interest within your outfit. If you are wearing a shorter jacket, play with a longer blouse and pant to create a waist.
